Apologies for not posting yesterday's thought du jour...lot of homework to do. :-(
Anywho, today's thought du jour:
A quote for the day:
…But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
The big excitement at my school right now is the new soccer field that is almost done. The teams are practically falling over, they are so eager to get on it. We've had to rent a field a couple of towns away for our home field, so that the teams don't have to travel three hours to every game. Still, the "home field" is at least half an hour away, so they are bouncing. It's going to be done for next week- homecoming!
All the teams at my school are called the Eagles- from basketball to soccer. They are all the Eagles, and their theme verse is Isaiah 40:31 (see above). We aren't exactly renowned for being the best teams in the state- we won our first state championship last year- but we play hard and generally do very well.
More importantly, we've got good sports on our teams. In fact, last year, we won the sportsmanship award- something we're very proud of. After all, isn't that more important than winning? Winning or losing gracefully is an important skill.
